About & vision

Safety. Opportunity. Community.

Safe With Me UK exists so that leaving care doesn't mean facing everything alone. We're building support that's warm, practical and honest — for care-experienced young people and care leavers across the UK.

Safety

Support that doesn't make you prove yourself first. Consistent, human, and clear about what it can and can't do — because unpredictable support is its own kind of harm.

Opportunity

Practical help with the things that quietly decide how a year goes: housing, money, food, study, work. Not inspiration — logistics.

Community

Spaces designed with care-experienced people rather than for them, where nobody has to explain their background before they're taken seriously.

Who this is for

Anyone who is care-experienced or leaving care in the UK — whether that was foster care, residential care, kinship arrangements or a mix of all three, and whether it was last year or a decade ago.

It's also for the people around them: leaving-care teams, universities, employers, charities and funders who want to do something more useful than signposting.

The long-term vision

A national organisation that care leavers actually choose to use — because it's genuinely helpful, not because they were referred. Community sessions running weekly. Milestones marked properly. Practical support that arrives when it's needed rather than months later.

Getting there means funding, partnerships, governance and safeguarding done properly. That's the work happening now.

How we work

  • Say what's real. If something isn't funded or launched, we say so.
  • Built with, not for. Care-experienced people shape what we run.
  • Dignity over paperwork. Support should feel human, not procedural.
  • No pity narratives. Respect is the baseline, not a reward.
  • Do fewer things properly rather than many things badly.

Safe With Me UK is currently being developed. Several services shown on this site are planned programmes that depend on funding and partnerships, and are clearly marked as such. The email waitlist is the one thing live today.
